Skills and Expertise
"The quality of your work is a snapshot of your character."
"Everything you've ever wanted is on the other side of fear." G. Addair
Greetings fellow educators, parents, and community members! The purpose of this website is to equip you with resources that support teaching, learning, and leading in the 21st century. As you navigate your way through this website, you will find an eclectic range of strategies and services. Although I am quite resourceful, creative, and industrious, I pride myself in being teachable. I value insight from all stakeholders and collaborating across networks. Together, we have the power to transform education and accelerate pathways for student achievement.
My expertise is in professional development, Common Core, curricular planning, PBL/STEAM, integrating computer-mediated technology in the classroom, K-12 literacy, and group development/team building. I am trained in Adaptive Schools, Cognitive Coaching, Habits of Mind, RtI, Teachers College Reading and Writing Project (TCRWP), Kagan Strategies, Kaplan's Icons, and Restorative Justice.
I enjoy traveling, meeting new people, and learning about different cultures. Traveling provides the benefit of developing knowledge and understanding of schools in a global context. Some places that have enlightened my educational journey are as follows: Kenya, Africa (I attended school in Kenya for two years); Beijing, Tianjin, and Hong Kong, China; Amsterdam, Netherlands; Venice and Bari, Italy; Olympia, Mykonos, and Athens, Greece; Dubrovnik, Croatia; Sarande, Albania; Bora Bora, Tahiti; Puerto Rico; Caribbean Islands (Jamaica and Cayman Islands); Cozumel, Mexico; Virgin Islands (Aruba, Dominica, St. John, and St. Thomas); and several states (New York, Michigan, Louisiana, Oregon, Washington, Colorado, Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, Washington, D.C., Virginia, Illinois, Indiana, Florida, North Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Utah, Nevada, Hawaii, Pennsylvania, and more to come!). I look forward to extending my educational journey by working with you and sharing best practices, resources, and strategies for success. Contact me for further consultation and collaboration.
